2/ Hand Tap Rhythm Program
I have created this lively, seated music-and-movement experience designed especially for seniors. Residents tap along to a joyful mix of familiar music styles. Every session blends rhythm, coordination, and gentle cognitive engagement in a way that feels playful, social, and accessible for all mobility levels.
Participants learn real tap dance terminology such as shuffles, flaps, time-steps and paradiddles all adapted for the hands so everyone can join in comfortably.
Each session is standalone and focuses on just 4 to 6 terms, making it easy for newcomers to join at any time. There is no pressure to remember routines from one visit to the next; the emphasis is always on enjoyment, engagement, and discovery. The maximum number of participants for an effective session is 20.

• Cognitive stimulation through pattern building, call and response, and musical memory
• Physical engagement with safe, seated movement that supports dexterity and range of motion
• Coordination and timing through rhythmic repetition. and supportive demonstration
• Emotional well being with upbeat music, laughter, and group participation
• Cultural connection through familiar tunes and styles seniors already love
All Equipment Provided
Everything needed for the session is supplied, including:
• A speaker and curated playlist • A comfortable soft foam lap board with a smooth plastic tapping surface
• Special “tap socks” for the hands with taps attached
Schedule:
This program is offered on weekday mornings, Monday-Friday 9:30am-12pm.
For afternoon bookings, or to combine with a performance, please refer to my Performance & Hand Tap Bundle (below). Already booked a performance? No problem, your previous booking can be adjusted to add Hand Tap to that day to make a bundle.
Duration & Pricing:
• 30-45 min = $100+hst • additional sessions on same day = $75+hst
Special Occasion Pricing
• 30-45 min = $125+hst • additional sessions on same day = $100+hst
Travel Fee:
• No travel fee within Ottawa
• Travel outside Ottawa quoted individually
Payments:
Payment is due day of program unless otherwise arranged.
